Ravencrest Christian Lodge

Estes Park, Colorado

This wonderful mountain Bible camp water feature was actually built on the order of the Estes Park Fire Department. Due to the extreme elevation and rocky terrain, this facility had nowhere to build the required ugly water storage tank for its new wedding facility and gymnasium addition. Working with local engineering firm Vanhorn and Associates, Waterscapes Inc. helped design and build a beautiful centerpiece to the wedding facility and event center that doubles as the required fire abatement water storage. Waterscapes Inc. designed and installed a fire hydrant per fire department specifications that instantly provides 12,000 gallons of available water. Extensive dynamite blasting was required, but it provided extracurricular excitement to the resident students! The water feature is also surrounded by 15,000 square foot patios, steps, and sitting benches built from slabs of Colorado Buff Flagstone, some measuring an unbelievable 20’ x 20′.

These large slabs provide level table and seating areas for up to 250 guests. The recirculating water feature not only provides a serene and beautiful environment, but it also provides emergency water to keep the buildings, guests, and residents safe.
